i put the finishing touches on my car and took it for a test drive about 1/4 mile up the street and then right back. it turns out the carbs i have are way out of whack. time to call a carb guy for help with the jetting and crap.

i ended up driving my suburban to the vw meeting again. i have owned my vw for almost five years and its been to one meeting.

Yesterday kinda sucked, I had to put my cat Stanley to sleep. We were great buddies for over 18 years. He loved to play fetch and enjoyed eating ice cream with me and my kids.

I started welding up the rust holes. I am trying to get the whole thing ready so I can paint the interior of the jalopy, prior to putting it back on the pan.

I have also ordered some Masterseries to paint the patches, in order to prevent the same rust problems in the future.

Damn, That Sucks! With every Pet there comes the realization that one day you will be faced with that very situation. The thought of one day having to make the call on Madison almost breaks my Heart. I feel for you!

MAJOR Best Friend MOJO heading your way from Texas.

It sucks to lose a friend. We have a 10 yr old cat and she's starting to show her age. It doen't help that we have an 11 month old kitten always wanting to play. Sam goes after her though. We say that Ginny (the kitten) has brought out Sam's inner kitten. Extra mojo coming from Illinois amigo!

Yea it was a huge bummer. And yes I did shed more then a few tears. He has slept with my daughter nearly every night for the past 10 or so years and they were real close. My daughter went to the vet but refused to watch the injection, she sat in the waiting room alone until he passed, then came in for one last goodbye. Still hurts thinking about it. We get his ashes in less then a week.

Thanks all for the support and mojo!!!! Its greatly appreciated!

Well.........I have told you folks that my wife owns a Flower Shop here. So my day started at 6:00am. Her's on the other hand (except for alittle sleep between 4:30 and 6:30am) did not end from the previous day. I made the first delivery at 7:00am and the last one about 9:15pm. On top of all the Headach that goes along with Valentines Day, Lisa came down with that Flu earlier in the week.

As hectic as my day was, Her's was Much worse. We survived. She went to the Dr. today and got two shots so she is better.

Did my 8th engine R&R on this depolyment. CAT 3126'S arent hard to R&R but by # 8 it kinda wears on ya.
The last couple were bad cause, we got a bad replacement engine. Pull the old, install the replacement , waste a day trying to get it to run. Pull the replacement, install the spare "spare".
Yeah ran great! But the trans leaks like crazy, so pull it out and swap the trans.... now Its all better?

Today i started fabbing new rails for the Buggy. I am not gonna use the stamped sheetmetal rails on the lift kit. So I got ahold of a bunch of 1.5" square tubing. Stacked 2 high it makes 3". Perfect. This is to give me something solid to bolt the roll cage to.
The body fabrication is done. A little body work is needed but not much and it's easy stuff. So the cage will begin really soon. Like around the end of the month if all goes according to plan.

Working on another mold for casting Pewter.
Using a different material, this stuff is from Smooth-On.

A lot Less money, and a lot easier to work with.Doesn't set up
quite as hard as I would like, but if that is the only problem,I can handle it.

Should be able to try casting with it tomorrow.

I tried OOMOO 30.
Don't need a scale or vacuum.

Back half on the left, front half on the right.
Metal and epoxy model in the middle.

Wasted today watching the race on tv.
Will try and cast some tonight.

Yesterday I spent 5 hours with an angle grinder cutting out floor pans and various rust spots. Today between classes(College really gets in the way of budget and time for building my ride) I got a floor frame build for where the back seat was and finished cutting the rust(I hope) out of the back section under the back glass. After my next two classes I hope to have a little daylight left to keep workin on the frame/re creating the firewall
