Re: Pre-A Outlaw replica.
Maybe overkill but I will be building in original style heating too. Using stocktype heaterboxes and channels under door. Just to be able to make the drivingseason longer in Finnish climate...

Re: Pre-A Outlaw replica.
How is the front done? Is it a standard beam or something else?

Re: Pre-A Outlaw replica.
It's a 1302S so it has mcpherson frontstruts. They are a set of shorter adjustable ones. The uppermounts are not yet finished so I will do the front my way. Instead of trying to make the front luggage area with the cutout fiberglass parts I prefer steel...

Re: Pre-A Outlaw replica.
No big update but nevertheless an important one...
Got the uppermounts for the rear shocks fixed in correct position and angle by the help of the jig I made.
Previous owners had removed the complete towers including upper shockmounts due to big loweringplans.
The IRS trailingarms would have hit the towers....
Here fixed with the jig.
And here with jig removed and the mount fixed with spotwelds. Will be fully welded and get added support when I get all details prewelded and will lift the body off so I can fully weld all details without risk to burn the body...

Re: Pre-A Outlaw replica.
Today I finally lifted the body off the pan so I can finish the welding on the pan/cage and helpframe for the body...
Rolled it out in the nice two month early spring sun while grinding all areas needing welding.

Re: Pre-A Outlaw replica.
Started welding in some helpframe for bodysupport etc. around the engine. Also helps making the enginebay sealed from the heat under the engine...
Then my damaged brain started come up with mad ideas again....
Hmm... How long is....?
How much space do I have when helpframe is finished...?
Hmm... Engine is a few inches shorter than the frame... Hmm...
No!! Stay focused!! Stay focused!!!

6? He's got room enough for an eight! I mean, um, no, no, the four will be just fine.
