Well, my mom and dad met in '58, married in '61 and then in '66 I showed up and they had to call me something.

Scott because I'm part Scottish on my mother's side.
H is the first letter of my last name, which is a variation of the German name Heinkel, like the Luftwaffe bombers.

So the main reason for it being my user name is that I'm not exactly very creative.

It's an ignorant German translation of "Rat Rod"

I did it with a babblefish.

Dwyndal was my DJ name mostly spinning electronica (4/4 repetitious boom boom music). I came up with it because when I thought about everything it all broke down into little bits. My mental state did and will again as well, so Dwyndal pronounced as dwindle.

PS I like this thread.

Same here. OOops.

The little studio I have in my basement is called NightScreams Music since we do all of our recording at night. I use that now just, well, because. I used to use Sneaks as a name for just about everything for years, a shortened version of my native American name of Sneaks-like-mouse. I still use that on the forums/ngs that I signed up with that name.

I've had some pretty nice muscle cars in the past, so every body always said "He's a Motor Head". Then I saw a cartoon called Motor Mouse and his arch nemisis AUTO CAT. I liked Otto Katt better than Motor Head so I adopted than as my handle.

A former co-worker of mine started a fantasy football league in the office a few years back, and I needed a team name... he suggested "Krautvagens"... I liked it (he knew how big a VW fan I am) so I used it for my team who came in dead last that year.

In the German language the letter "W" is pronounced like a "V", so I changed it to KRAUTWAGEN, which is closer to "VOLKSWAGEN" anyway.

The "Kraut" part is kind of obvious... but I really do not like to eat sourkraut.

Anyway... it was around the same time that I found this forum and signed up using this name. I also have a web site called www.krautwagen.com Funny though, I don't call my Bug "Krautwagen", and no one calls me Krautwagen.

Great thread. Now back to work.

Nothing fancy, just my surname / familyname. Translates something like Cattlefield.

I tend to bring change (and chaos) with me wherever I go. Also, I wander around New England, ranging through states in my semi-nomadic existence, without an owner (now that I'm divorced)....

Cochino is another word for pig in spanish. And cochi is like piggy. It was my ex's pet name for me. I changed it to Kochi because cochi was usually taken when I signed up to web sites. I like it and am not going to change it.

Well, back in the day I was heavily into the punk/ skateboarding scene but that isn't where that part of my s/n comes from. When I bought my turbo bug, I drove it home. For those who have had the pleasure of hearing my car, it's pretty loud as there is no muffler. It's just a race pipe. When I pulled it into the driveway for the first time, my neighbor from across the street yells over to me "So, I guess your the new neighborhood punk!"
I went down to the DMV and got PUNK for a personalized license plate.

And yes, I still love old school punk music.

By the way, "Walt" was already taken.
