4 foot tubing from home depot.. first version used all four feet but the weld at the framehead (don't know the lingo.. tube where the handlebars and front assembly slide through) broke due to the crazy pressure created by the rake. this one is a little more streetable.

for the most part, my bike is done. i have to touch up some paint but until i get my ape hangers and maybe some white walls ....its done.

put a chain on it today... bike shop wanted 20 to fit a chain and i didnt feel like spending 12 on a chain breaker... so a screwdriver and a few well palced blows later i had the custom chain.

here it is with a total cost of $2.10

nice bikes guys.I have been working on this frame i got a few years ago. a kig from the neighbourhood asked me to paint his frame( a chopper he wanted to build), so i offered him my chrome frame. he loved it ,so i also moulded a skull and painted it for him. still needs a few things like 144 spoke wheels, white walls a seat, handlebars, and a set of lowrider forks.(anyone know where to buy this stuff at a fairly good price? the kid don't have much cash, nor do I so ...)anyway, here it is. with the origional gear on it.

and another

took the bike to the local tonight.... got a real good responce... people kept stoping me and asking a lot of questions about it. i had one or the other kid sitting on the back as i tooled around. then we got in trouble for riding a bike in the area.... so we went back to where the vw's were and i let everyone try to ride it.

one guy said that he had some 15-18 inch ape hangers he will give me for it. score he tried to ride a wheelie on it but couldnt with the current set up... he should be able to with the ape hangers on it.

Crack, the bike came out great! I think the addition of the apes will really complete it. I rode around on my friends chromed out lowrdier bike today and it just brought me back to the good old dayz. Now I really want to build another bike, but I am soooo picky about what frame I use, since I don't have access to cut one up and weld it together in the pattern/shape/rake that I want. I am a pretty big guy and riding a stock lowrider frame just doesn't cut it for me. I really need something thats stretched out, at least 5 feet in length. Maybe I'll build one with the ashes of the dayz chopper after I'm done burning the POS to the ground.

What a dull day at work can make you do.........
I have these old bicycle headlights that i've striped the paint of and put some LED's, and reflectors in so they work without a dynamo. Never meant to put further work in to them, but the other day at work we had nothing to do, so i used some of our paintsampels to do this:

the guys i got my bike from extended the springer fork really easy. they cut the bent tubes off the fork right below the lower cross brace under the neck and all they used for the 2 top skinnier re-enforcement tubes were the flattened tabs.they added tubing and made new wheel stays on the main tubes and then extended the upper tubes. i know im not very good at explaining this so if anyones interested on how to exten a lowrider for to 4 ft long let me know and ill post pics. oh yeah with it that long you make the springer inoperable by using 2 nuts on it.

You guys would love being over here.. We have a bunch of guys who call themselves "The Cranksters"... Most are family men, in their 30's to 40's of age... All have custom bikes and go out on Friday nights for a group ride to rain terror and take in a few beers at any of about 6 different stops along a different route each week.. Their wives don't know what they get up to (otherwise they wouldn't be allowed to go) but let's just say, any youngish female with great legs and a short skirt is fair game for these loonatics... It's all fun and I don't think the girls really mind getting yells and wolf whistles for 20+ guys all riding push bikes... :D
I would love to join them, but they ride on what is one of my busiest work times for the week... I got myself a bike.. (see picture below), but when it sat for 6 months and got ridden twice around the block in that time, I ended up doing a swap for it, with one of The Crankster who had a motor I wanted for my Speedway car...
Have fun...

ok so I'm building a bike and I can't decide on the color.. right now it's metal flake brown.. but I'm updating it.. and I'm going to go buy the paint tomorrow, I cna't decide on satin seafoam green or satin/flat black

I know that the flat black will probably get most of you guys saying YEAH.. but if I do seafoam I can also use my yello glitter schwinn seat as it will be more colorfull.. I have red cork grip tape and am planning on getting red cables for it too as I have to replace all of the old ones. if I use black I have a red and black haro seat and I could use that too

its a basic 70's japanese 10 speed lots of suntour and dia compe parts.. alot of aluminum and chrome. I'm going to be taking off the rear wheel chain guard tho.. I allways hated them

I'm going to do a satin buff of all the aluminum with some 600 grit sand paper...
