Re: Hood Ornament
What if the Volksrod part was left off on a future version, so that the buyer could have a custom insert made / engraved to personalize it?

Re: Hood Ornament
Not sure what Vermont has to do with anything but glad I am not going there. As for two, spend when I got it. I might need it to trade for some gauges at some point.

Re: Hood Ornament
Could you just sign mine and maybe add, ah, " Your Single Cab is one of the most radical VW trucks ever to have one of my hood ornaments grace its roof." Helvetica Bold lettering would be nice.

You can request it but you'll probably get one that says, "Thanks for the reacharound."

Sent you a PM. It is yours.
That means folks that all 50 are spoken for!
It also means that I get to send a donation to Steve of $1000 to help keep this place going! Thanks to all that helped out by buying one of the hood ornaments.
I will be giving regular updates here in the next week or two with regards to the production pieces and shipping. I will also send out confirmation e-mails to everyone that ordered.
Thanks again.

Re: Hood Ornament
John,
Donating part of the proceeds just makes the ornaments mean more. Great Idea. And Thanks

Re: Hood Ornament
PayPal sent! Now I really need to figure out where to mount this on my car.
We'll need to start a thread showing them mounted!
I guess I really need to finish the wiring on my car now...

Re: Hood Ornament
I'll probably polish mine and then just put it in my display case. I really have no use for it but it looks awesome and helps support the site.
Thanks John

Re: Hood Ornament
I plan to put mine on my 'display truck.' Now I'll have to catch up on some work so that it's truly worthy.

Re: Hood Ornament
UPDATE!
The production patterns are almost complete. Got them all assembled tonight and soaked in penetrating epoxy to make them durable enough to get the 50 parts off. I made a matched plate set for the main part including indexing pins. Fred will add any gates, sprues, and venting he needs.
They just need a final light sanding and maybe a coat of paint and they are good to go. Should deliver them to the foundry on Monday or Tuesday next week and have parts back the following week!
Getting closer. Thanks for your patience.
and NO they are not done yet!

Ok, 'cause i was about to post that i got mail yesterday and it wasn't in there .
On the other hand, what is the black mold made of?
I only ask, because your index keys look really far from the item being molded. I usually put my keys closer so there is no flex in the mold.
BTW, it's looking really good.
