Mein Chop
Re:: My first chop attemp (finally)
Its a 66 and I have a smaller 1960 rear window and surround,
that I'm going to slide up and graft in. Still have a lot of figuring to do. And a thanks to WraithBlade for some pointers.

Re: Mein Chop
Thanks, the stool was a recent yard sale bundle score. Minus the VW stencil job.
I'll post more pics of the chop, soon.

Re: Mein Chop
I kinda wish that I pulled in the bottom of the "A" pillars(its not too late). I'm not sot how the front of the doors are going to align.

Re: Mein Chop
Looks cool interesting approach.
If you pull in the bottom of the A pillars your door will need to be darted on the front in the same place with the material being removed from the inside.
If you can make 2 cuts it will flow a bit better but it might not be needed.

Re: Mein Chop
Thanks. Thoughts of the Inch Pinched paint job keeping going through my head. But I know the Wife would hate it. Maybe the same scheme in shades of grey and black prime.

Re: Mein Chop
Yeah, I've been thinking about it. I like the red pin stripes with the satin black and grey in the Gas Monkey Dodge commercial.

Re: Mein Chop
I didn't have a chance to look for that hood latch last night thanks to that rediculous storm again last night. I'll be late getting home tonight but shuold be able to look around for it. Hopefully I can find it. I can try to stop by tomorrow evening.
Freakin six weeks in Missouri, then home for two and then off to North Dakota for a week. HOPEFULLY that is it for the summer.

Actually I wouldn't mind being back there right now but....
Those Midwestern weather patterns!!! Not afraid to admit it, quite a few of the thunderstorms we had While out there scared the SHIT out of me. One night the thunder was so bad it damn near knocked me out of bed, and that was BEFORE the sirens went off!
the weather in North Dakota hasn't seemed to have been much better. Hopefully it chills hte Fuck out while I'm out there. Last trip there with my wife we had to out run a tornado driving from Valley City to Fargo. At least they never seem to be a bad up in Crosby where we're going, just hope minot isn't flooded out like last time. Really not into cleaning out basements again.
And I seem to have brought that shit weather home with me!!
shit. sorry, HIJACK over!

Re: Mein Chop
This pic may look like the previous, but the window is more aligned and tacked in place.

Re: Mein Chop
I'm using deck lid stand offs, so I'm not worried about the lid to roof alignment. Kinda cheating.
